This project involved an extension to the rear and side of the property to increase to amount of living space and achieve an airy open-plan layout. Large skylights and a glazed rear elevation was achieved by an efficient combination of steel and timber members.

The extension also neatly integrates with the existing garage, which required us to ensure the foundations and framing were consolidated seamlessly.

Even though most of the existing rear wall is removed, we were able to ensure support and lateral stability of the original property with a neat arrangement of stability frames.
